O.R.B.I.T. Outrageous Rascals Beyond Intergalactic Territories

From concept to collectible, O.R.B.I.T. brings together monstrous intergalactic warriors in a battle over Earth, all in the form of hand-painted vinyl toys.

Dreamt up and visualized with AI, these characters were brought to life in collaboration with How2Work to turn them into tangible, collectible art.

It’s a cosmic clash of grotesque villains, where each piece is a portal to an out-of-this-world adventure.

Back in January 2023, How2Work slid into my inbox with an offer that was too cool to ignore. They wanted to team up with Neptunian Glitterball—that’s me—to turn my wild, dystopian visuals into actual toys. For someone who’s both a massive nerd and a die-hard toy collector, this was like hitting the jackpot.

So, I got to thinking about the toys I loved back in the ’80s, especially those M.U.S.C.L.E. figures, and bam! The idea for O.R.B.I.T. was born. I wanted it to be a nod to those campy, kitschy space villains that filled my childhood with so much joy. Mixing up genAI for the initial designs with some old-school hand-drawn sketches, I guided a 3D artist to create something totally new: the first set of toys designed with genAI. It was like blending the best of both worlds—my geeky love for the past and the futuristic cool of AI.

We showed off the prototype at LA DesigneCon in 2023, and it was a hit. The full release is dropping later in 2024, and I can’t wait. This project is a bit of a dream come true, marrying my love for toys with my creative side and pushing the envelope on what’s possible in the world of collectibles.
